Dale C. McNary

	Dale C. McNary, Sr., age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in Peoria.  He was born July 17, 1921 in Du Quoin and was a World War II veteran.
	Mr. McNary was the beloved husband of Lillie Mae McNary and loving father of Jacqueline L. Curry, Dale C. McNary, William L. McNary (deceased), Cheryl L. McNary (Harold) and step-father of Kenneth Myers (deceased) and Michael Fisher.
	Mr. McNary was the grandfather of Robert McNary Curry, Rogea Permaul, Sheila Polk, Dale C. McNary III, Yvette McNary, Michelle McNary and Jattaun McNary.  He was also the great-grandfather of 13 grandchildren.  He was the brother of Lillie Marie Jones, Luther Clarry, Jr. (deceased), Rita McGuire, Ollie Clarry, Stanley Clarry and Bruce Clarry.  He was the cousin of Clara Brown, Isabel, Lucille and Jody Smith.  He also had a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
	Dale retired February 1, 1986 from Komatsu Mining Systems in Peoria after 35 years.  Dale was elected business manager of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 158 where he later became president.  Dale was the first black chief executive of the Boilermakers Local #158 and the longest-reigning elected official.
	Dale was a member of Lion Baptist Church of Peoria for almost 60 years and trustee for 35 years.
	Visitation was scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2003 from 12 to 1 p.m.  Funeral services were scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. on May 31 at Zion Baptist Church, 323 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, Peoria.  Interment was in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria.
